It is comforting to know that I'm far from the only hoarder here. Like a kid in a candy shop. At the very least, I can offer my guests and loved ones a truly outstanding collection to choose from. It is better to have then have not.

Human nature being what it is, yes I need a little discipline in culling the heard from time to time.

What helps is that I create a text file for each film. The text file is composed of the very best reviews gathered here and at IMDB. Seriously with the reviews it's like graduating from film school, the background and knowledge available is amazing.

Respect but do not fear hardware. It is and will always be in a state of flux and avancement. Read the reviews at say Newegg, 170 positive and four that dropped dead after a few days. It happens. Some basic knowledge goes a long way in reducing risks. There are excellent freeware programs without spam for antivirus, anti malware, hardware analysis, defragmentation, registry cleaners, etc. I've gathered the best through trial and error over the years and it sure helps to keep things running smoothly.

I've an LCD IPS panel, commercial grade for the pro photographers, took a long time to throw out my pro monitor CRTs but I'm glad I did. This is to say you can enjoy playback at your puter that rivals the best CRTs or LCD T.V.s in existence.

The important thing is thanks to the many dedicated uploaders and flim buffs that make this site so worthwhile.

Just wish the non PD flicks would stay up a little bit longer...

A happy camper who has at least one great Christmas present coming on the UPS sleigh. A little software experience and its not that hard to remove your name from Santa's who has been naughty and nice list!

Movies that violate copyright should not be uploaded here.

"It's a joke son" Yeah play by the rules...appreciate what needs to be done to continue... but this holier than thou crap gets a little bit old. Frankly my dear "I don't give a damn". Reality check for egos, I've the expertise, resources, to D/L any viable commercially relevant film extant. Takes knowledge, resources, quite a bit of software to reproduce commercial grade DVDs. Been there done it. My own personal use. What's nice about this, here all in the Archive, is the amount of films that no one else cares about commercially. You and the other PD police, cut some slack and give it a break. You hear me, gone too far, one trick pony's.

I'll confess to having occasionally grabbed a non-PD film before it was taken down. Not really cricket, I know. And I wholly agree that the Archive needs to remove them and they shouldn't have been uploaded in the first place.

Bless me, IA, for I have sinned. :)

Never argue with an idiot. They will only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
